Is Dan Wheeler worth getting? In order to get him, I'd have to give up Aubrey Huff. My other relievers are Chris Ray, and Trevor Hoffman.

My other option is to pick up BJ Ryan (he was dropped to free agency because of his injury), so i can grab him and put him on my DL. Is Wheelers production going to be good enough so that hes more worth having than Ryan will produce later?

Wheeler is worth having and will produce reasonably well. History has shown that even bad teams can produce tons of saves, and the Astros are an ideal position for saves. Their offensive woes ensure that they won't really blow many teams out, and their good top-of-the-rotation pitching means lots of close games. Close games mean save chances.

And Lidge won't be taking the job back at all this season, so no worries there.

I would also pick up Ryan and stash him if you can. He'll be back in about 6 weeks and has at least a pretty good shot at getting the job back. Frasor is good, but unless he's lights out, Ryan will get the role back within a couple weeks of his return.

Stay away from Wheeler. Lidge is still on the club, and Wheeler has had chances before. Wheeler is not a permanent closer by any means.

Pick up Ryan for the DL and keep Ray. That's the Orioles pair.

Hoffman is a keeper of course.

I would suggest snagging Ryan and stashing him on your DL. Then grab Wheeler for Huff. Wheeler has had success before and should be fine. Garner has lost confidence in Lidge and there are rumors he might be traded.

Huff is also a notorious slow starter but has shown a recent decline in production the last 2 seasons.
