This is not the first time the letters on there tires have been yellow. Goodyear came out with a new tire that NASCAR is running this year. They just happened to make the lettering yellow as they are different tires then last year!!!

actually I just got the answer, its for the photographs, the white came out blurry, and the yellow stands out better

probably so they stick out more when they go around the track
