Bedard's the best strikeout pitcher nobody knows of because he plays for a team that gives him no run support. Sammy will probably get hot again at some point, but there are rookies on the waiver wire right now with better potential.
Grab Bedard from the idiot who's living in the 90's :).

if you can get Bedard for Sosa then well done, you got a steal. Watch what Sammy does when he gets to 600. The word you are looking for is retire. Bedard leads the Junior circuit in Ks, he has a BAA under 230, and he won 12 last year for a horrible team. Bedard is an elite pitcher, Sosa is warm now, but with his age he is a prime example for a 2nd half letdown, sell high while you can

It depends. If you need power on your team, I would keep Sosa, if you need pitching on your team, I would get Bedard. Erik Bedard is near the top of the league in Strikeouts with 88 in only 76 IP. He also has 4 wins, despite not having the best offense to back him up. Sosa is getting old and you really can't count on him to do well everyday. With an average of only .250, I would try to get rid of him. Sosa does still have the talent to hit for power and drive in many runs though. So, i'd say do it if you have more power on your team, but don't, if you need the power for your team. Hope this helps, good luck.

it depends how your pitching staff is. if you need strike outs, do it. bedard will easily be a top 3 strikeout guy this year and win at least 15. Sosa can easily be replaced by another outfielder, and i also think he'll get injured later in the season. so id say do the trade, itll pay off in the long run.

even nevertheless the Orioles do have the money to sign Bedard to an extension, Baltimore possession hasn't have been given what it takes to opt to Bedard because of the fact the chief of the gang, and the ousting of Miguel Tejada exhibits that. they are, unfortunatley for them, caught in a "rebuilding" section that would desire to have ended a pair of years in the past, whilst Tejada, Gibbons, Mora, and Hernandez have been all having large years, coupled with the upward thrust of O's pitching potentialities like Erik Bedard and John Maine. they only have an exceedingly detrimental possession device that basically would not care approximately their team. they have enable opportunities slip by way of their hands: no longer the gamers, who've performed properly until they are traded. For the wellfare of Erik Bedard, he would desire to be traded. He has the aptitude to be an incredible pitcher, yet no longer on the Orioles, whose possession would not care approximately him. in the event that they have been sensible, and listened to the followers and gamers, he'd be a profession chicken.

Absolutely. Bedard is one of the better SP in the AL and has been almost unhittable last month or so. Sammy is a decent OF no beter who happens to have a famous name.
