While Peterson may eventually top LT, I need to see him do it for more than 14 games (remember, he missed 2).
LT scored 31 touchdowns AND threw for 2 more in 2006. To me, yards are great (LT has averaged over 1500/year in his career) but, running backs are paid to carry the ball to the end-zone. LT is already #3 on the all-time rushing TD list. I wasn't happy with his play in the playoffs but, he was clearly hurting from something.
Peterson had a great season but, he missed two games and, even projected over a full season, he comes nowhere NEAR LT's 2006 season. I was amazed that he was able to return so fast after tearing a ligament in his knee but, he hasn't played a full season since his freshman year of college.
Until Peterson can make it through a full year, post better numbers than LT and lead his team to the play-offs, LT has the upper hand.
