Question:
2014 yahoo fantasy football draft question?
?

i am new to yahoo fantasy football. i was invited to a league and i dont really know the league manager so i am reluctant to post the question on the league page. so maybe you guys know the answer.

when looking under draft picks, it says how many picks each team gets per round. most teams get 1 pick in the first round. but one team gets 3 picks in the first round. other teams have multiple picks in other rounds. my team actually has one pick per round.

so my questions are:
why would any team get 3 picks in the first round? isnt that extremely lopsided? cause it it were me, i would pick adrian peterson, jamaal charles, and peyton manning. granted, i dont know the actual numbers his picks are, but still - you get the idea.

is that a common way to draft on yahoo? i havent seent that on espn or nfl.com.

thanks

You need to look carefully through your league settings, particularly whether this is a keeper league or not. Since you didn't say anything about having a keeper, I assume this is a redraft league. If so, it's really bizarre to trade draft picks. That's usually done in keeper leagues, where a top player becomes part of a trade for a draft pick (just like the NFL).

If this is a public league you've joined, either the commish is up to no good or he's a kid playing with the settings and not knowing what he's doing. I'd bail out and find another one.

You probably joined an existing keeper league..

I have traded for players by giving away future draft picks in the past;I did the trades with no intention of playing in the same league the following year..I wanted to win that year, and then play in different leagues the next year.

I think that is what happened in your league.People traded away future draft picks for current players, then maybe left the league.

You are DEFINITELY going to be at a huge disadvantage in your league,& I would bail out if possible.

I've never heard of that. The way all I've known of work is, the team with the first pick in round one picks last in round two, and vice versa.

I am on an autodraft and I usually have my team by now. They may have trouble filling live draft leagues and are waiting for more to sign up
